Title: Project Manager (Tooling & NPI)
Reports to: Plant Head Tool Shop
Location: Mexico
Job Summary Responsible for managing all new tooling projects to achieve/meet deadlines and quality requirements according to customer requirements. Implement systems and processes to maintain highest levels of Quality within project and tooling team. Attending to new RFQs and initiate/manage tool making process from DFM stage and till the industrialization of the molds.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Attend to and creation of reliable new mold enquiries and Mold Quotations (RFQ)
- Function with sales team, molding sections for successful and efficient implementation of new projects.
- Focus on idea generation for developing new products and concepts, DFM(Design For manufacturing)
- Ensure and facilitate Tooling department's progress on project control, establishing set timelines, and meet customer deadlines.
- Co-ordinate and Manage vendor development for local suppliers and co-ordinate with CFT on new mold development.
- Participate in product development team meetings to ease product development, manufacturing and design reviews with all team members across the Design, Manufacturing, Molding & Sales teams
- Analyze and incorporate customer feedback and statistical quality and work in tandem with the project and planning team to achieve the desired requirements.
- Be part of management team in Planning and Improvement of manufacturing processes and people development.
- Ensure the team works towards the goal of achieving set QCD (Quality, Cost & Delivery) targets for all projects
- Prepare yearly budgets for the functioning of the Tool Room based on Forecasts and focus on achieving set KPI.
Position Requirements:
- A Degree/Diploma in Mechanical/Tool Engineering with 10-15 years of experience in Project/Program management with high level of proficiency in Mold Manufacturing, Injection molding and validation processes.
- Should possess Excellent People Management and Communication Skills
- Adept at working on CAD/CAM platforms for basic requirements and possess mold manufacturing knowledge and skills
- Conversant with MS-Office tools
- Ability to make presentations and reports to management as required
