Scottish and Southern Electricity Network's (SSEN) Innovation team is building an innovative and inspiring team of people to design and deliver original solutions to issues faced by UK networks, mainly from projects funded through Ofgem's Network Innovation Allowance.

Our principal aim is to identify, develop and trial innovations for improving efficiency, decarbonising UK networks and integrating renewable generation, and integrating other low carbon technologies such as Electric Vehicles with a focus on delivery of benefits as quickly and efficiently as possible. A key part of our programme is the capture and dissemination of knowledge from research and development activities, to meet internal and external governance requirements.

The Innovation Project Manager is a key resource within the Innovation Team responsible for the development and successful delivery of a programme of research, development and demonstration projects to deliver value to our stakeholders and business. Reporting to the Innovation Strategy Manager, you will be responsible for managing, planning and coordinating multiple live projects and associated resources, working with academia, SMEs and large multi-nationals . Demonstrable project management skills are required and a project management related qualification advantageous.

As Project Manager you will develop commercial and market models to support project implementation and delivery. You will have experience creating project tender documents, and knowledge of purchasing procedures. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are vital and you will be comfortable engaging with stakeholders at all levels, both internal and external.

You will preferably hold a degree in an Electrical discipline and be working towards chartered status, a minimum HNC in an Engineering discipline is required as well as experience in the design, construction, operation and maintenance of electrical distribution networks; experience working in a regulated environment would be a distinct advantage.

Salary: Up to £56,671 depending on skills and experience
