Job description - Pipeline design engineers

Primary objective
The Pipeline Engineer helps Pipeline Lead engineer to meet the objectives of a Project. This is learning stage of Engineer.
Specific Accountabilities
* Prepare MRs , MTOs, PMS with guidance of Sr engineers.
* Prepare deliverables like Equipment layouts, Plot plan with help of Sr engineer.
* Follow recognised good engineering practices applicable to Pipeline design.
* Help Lead engineers to control & monitors activities in design group.
* Liaise with designer insuring good engineering practices are followed in layout
* Apply good interpersonal skills & help Lead engineer liaising across the members of other disciplines and departments.
* Prepares various report with Lead engineers guidance.
* Quality Assurance - Responsible for working within the provisions and guidelines of the Quality Assurance systems.
* Safety - Responsible for personal safety and working within the OHS&W procedures.
Essential Skills/Experience
* Degree in Engineering in Mechanical or Chemical. Membership to the Institute of engineers, India (AMIE) or equivalent.
* Up to 7 years Pipeline engineering experience in oil and gas or petrochemical industry for Engineering graduate
* A thorough knowledge of the codes and standards and a good understanding of good engineering practices applicable to layout and Pipeline design for upstream & downstream facilities.
* Extensive design experience is required in Pipeline engineering, Pipeline stress, pipe supports, layouts and detailed Pipeline design, with in Engineering consultancy organization of Upstream & Down stream

* Up to 7 years Pipeline engineering experience in oil and gas or petrochemical industry for Engineering graduate.



Job description - Pipeline designer

Primary objective
Responsible for performing plant layout and Pipeline design activities using project approved "in house"
3D CAD modelling and 2D drafting systems.
Produce the various discipline deliverables to the agreed schedule.
Apply recognized detail engineering practices applicable to Pipeline design.
Apply good interpersonal skills, liaising with members of other disciplines and departments.
Apply an awareness and willingness to work as a team member
Prepare 3D model or 2D drawings as per valid input.
Preparation & sometimes checking of Isometrics, Pipeline GA drg , nozzle orientation.
Carry out clash resolution , IDC checks, review of Vendor drawings.
A thorough knowledge of the drafting standards and a good understanding of detail engineering practices applicable to
upstream & downstream facilities.
A member of a Pipeline design team on at least two major Greenfield projects with a recognized engineering company.
A minimum of 2 years experience as a user of the 3D CAD modelling and 2D drafting system applicable to Pipeline layout and design.

Matching Indicators
Diploma of engineering or equivalent 2 year course by approved technical school.
Minimum 10 years proven experience of detailed Pipeline design gained with design contractors and/or oil/gas companies
within the petrochemical industry
particularly with respect to offshore oil and gas installations.
