Materials and Corrosion Engineering Manager,Houston

Job Description
An exciting opportunity to lead, develop and grow the Materials Engineering Department within an ambitious and success focused business. The position requires a
self-motivated, innovative and personable leader. A strong technical background in materials is also required in order to lead a team of knowledgeable consultants.
The role is regional and therefore encompasses Canada, The USA and South America. Interacting and supporting the other two global regions is also a responsibility of
the role.
The workscope undertaken by the materials department, led by the successful candidate, will include large integrated subsea projects working with the main O&G
operators and small detailed consultancy projects. In addition, a key focus of the business is diversification into new markets focusing on TURF (Terminals,
Utilities, Refineries, and Facilities) activities.
The successful candidate will join the WGIM Americas Leadership Team and will shape the delivery of the business objectives for their area. Operating within the
business processes, the candidate will ensure technical delivery is to the highest quality, the team is developed and highly motivated, and business development and
service line offerings are optimized to expand into innovative, sustainable, and profitable IM markets.

Responsibilities
Authorizing reports for issue
Leading and Managing staff and allocating work to engineers
Maintain reimbursability throughout the year
Develop and support staff business/technical mentoring system
Development and submission of proposals
Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget
Complete and/or support the production of reports
Undertake Business development in order to support growth targets for the Department and business overall
Developing and maintaining professional relationships amongst WGIM’s clients
Managing all Materials related projects delegating where appropriate to strong Team leads
Providing consultancy internally and externally on materials engineering discipline
Compliance with the company’s Quality and HSE policies
Achieve company goals / personal KPIs
Pro-actively lead involvement with industry associations and academic institutions.
The successful candidate will be based at WGIM, Houston, and will report directly to the Vice President of the Americas.
Required Experience
Minimum 10-15 years as a Materials/Metallurgical Engineer
Graduate Engineer with a degree related technical subject
Familiar with Subsea facilities, operations, commissioning & intervention
Familiar with stage gate project management process
