Project Engineer - Richardson, TX

Responsibilities 
 

  • The project engineer (PE) will review PO's and specifications received from the customer and validate customer specifications against sales quotes.
  • Notes any exceptions necessary.
  • Enters the Sales Order data/information into the ERP system and creates the necessary structure within the ERP system throughout the process to enable the project to move through the system to shipment.
  • Run ASME pressure vessel calculations necessary, creating the design for the pressure vessel based on the spec review and these calculations.
  • Manage the design process through to completion including reviewing drawings, both 2-D and 3-D for correctness and accuracy.
  • Responsible for specifying the appropriate weld procedures (WPS/PQR) for the project.
  • Specify appropriate materials for the vessel projects and communicate these needs via bills of material (BOM) to the supply chain and manufacturing group.
  • Communicate with the customer in writing and orally throughout the process of designing and managing the customer's order.
  • Communicate with vendors and internal customers throughout the project as necessary.
  • Responsible for general oversight of the project through to shipment of the product to the customer.
  • Responsible for communicating to the customer any scheduling changes that impact delivery.
  • Familiar with ASME Section VIII Division I requirements as they relate to the design and fabrication of high pressure vessels.
  • Familiar (or become familiar) with vessel registration processes/requirements(AS1210, PED/CE, CRN, etc.)
  • Familiar (or become familiar) with fabrication processes such as welding, charpy requirements, post weld heat treatment and hydro testing.
  • Must possess good attention to detail as well as have a good work ethic and good attitude towards and about the work.
  • Be able to work autonomously as well as with a team.
  • Must have good interpersonal skills and be teachable and accept management direction.
  • Must have strong communication skills, both written and oral.
