Looking candidates for On-going oil and gas project in Nigeria Location for Contract Role on Immediate basis

Position : MAINTENANCE SUPERINTENDENT


Location : Nigeria (1 year contract)


PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS


HND or bachelors degree in appropriate engineering discipline or STCW 95 Chief Engineer's

Certificate plus equal Certificate to satisfy Class and Flag requirements.

Dangerous Cargo endorsement.

Extensive experience on Tankers to the rank of 1st Engineer or 5 years' experience of FPSO operation, 2

years at Superintendent Level.

Experience and knowledge of oil production, gas compression and power generation systems.

Computer literate and experienced on maintenance management systems.


TYPICAL MAIN ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


Responsible for the correct operation of the utility equipment and the maintenance and repair of all

machinery, systems, process, and equipment on the FPSO.

Knowledge of roles and responsibilities regarding emergency response.

Supervise a department consisting of engineers and supervisors with electrical instrument and

mechanical fabrication, machine shop and welding skills.

Responsible for maintaining and requisitioning stocks of spare parts, consumables, tools, fuel,

lubricating oils, and chemicals.

Ensure that spare parts received are fit for purpose and revert to the FPSO dedicated buyer if any

problem.

Organise, administer, and implement the planned maintenance systems for all the various equipment

and machinery on the FPSO, including safety equipment.

Maintain a record of survey for all Hull, Machinery and Utility equipment ensuring that all administration

and Class requirements are complied with and requesting the timely attendance of surveyors as

appropriate to a continuous survey regime.

Communicate to the Operations Managers in Nigeria, machinery, and equipment deficiencies, request

technical advice as required and prepare, follow, and close out any necessary vendor assistance on

board in liaison with relevant Department Superintendent.

Routinely monitor the performance of machinery, equipment, and systems. Take corrective action or

request advice from the Shore Base as required.

Administer and enter machinery and equipment daily log and workbook records into the planned

maintenance system so that accurate and comprehensive records are maintained onboard.

Maintain a close working relationship with all Department Heads.

Act as Area Authority under the FPSO Permit to Work system.

Thorough knowledge of FPSO Permit to Work system, Isolation Standards, Risk Assessment, Codes of

Practice.

To be familiar with company procedures, ensuring compliance with same.

Ensure that personnel assigned to the Maintenance Dept are fully conversant with their duties and

responsibilities. Establish their level of competency and undertake to provide coaching/training where

shortfalls are identified. To provide guidance and support to subordinates.

Carry out objective probationary and annual assessments. Manage day-to-day disciplinary and

performance issues on board, in conjunction with OIM


Position : MARINE SUPERVISOR


STCW Class I deck certificate of competency or equivalent plus equal certificate to satisfy flag

requirements.

Dangerous cargo endorsement (oil tankers).

Minimum 8 years tanker experience with at least 3 in the position of Chief Officer.

Have experience of working using Permit to Work systems.


TYPICAL MAIN ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :


Act as area authority for all spaces under the auspices of deck department. Issue relevant work

permits for all work to be done in those spaces and ensure that all regulations and codes of safe

working practice are always complied with. Be proactive to maintain high Standards.

Provide feedback on performance issues to the Superintendent and on the job training where

required.

Calculate and monitor the vessels stability. Supervise all cargo and ballast operations. Operate

the cargo and ballast control console to maintain optimum ballast condition for the prevailing

environmental conditions and operations.

Direct and work with the general-purpose crew and organize the programme of maintenance in

areas within his jurisdiction.

Supervise all crane operations and supply boat entries in the MEZ.

Clear reporting of deficiencies and malfunctioning to the Cargo Superintendent. Discuss and

analyze technical and spares issues with his Superintendent. Propose solutions to deficiencies,

non-conformities.

Tank cleaning and gas freeing operations.

Operate the IG system.

Ensure that planned maintenance activities are performed correctly, timely and in an efficient

manner. Reporting or recording same as directed.

Ensure compliance with FPSO permit to work system, isolation standards.

Be aware of roles and responsibilities with regard to emergency response.

Daily management of small maintenance, general housekeeping, and painting of Deck by his

team.


Work Schedule : On board 12-hour shift work but 24-hour call.


Position : MARINE SUPERINTENDENT


Authority:

The Marine Superintendent will exhibit exemplary marine skills and safety

behaviours and will specifically ensure that all relevant mooring operations and

associated marine activities are performed safely and in accordance with local and

IMO regulations and operational procedures. He will ensure that associated

administration is performed in a timely manner.

Immediate Subordinates :


The Marine Superintendent assumes complete authority for relevant marine

activities such as berthing, and mooring. Depending on the complexity of the

vessel, he may also be responsible for cargo offloading and engine room

operations.


1) Implementation of Management System


1. Promote safety awareness and broad application of the Management System, codes of practice and

prime policies.

2. Ensure all relevant berthing or mooring activities are carried out according to the NJP Management

System or equivalent where the NJP Management System is to be considered the minimum standards.

3. Ensure timely, effective reporting and investigation of all accidents & incidents.

4. Ensure timely and effective close-out of survey and audit action item



2) Manage and Supervise Effectively



1. Demonstrate leadership during berthing, mooring and relevant marine activities.

2. Manage the operation of berthing, mooring and relevant marine activities with effective delegation and

communication

3. Delegate authority having due regard for competence and verify effective close out of tasks.

4. Liaise effectively with all relevant onshore and offshore departments.

5. Promote career development and training of deputies with due regard for all assessments ensuring

fairness & accuracy.

6. Manage relevant welfare and disciplinary issues in a timely and effective manner.

4 ) Contribute to the Control of Critical Situations and Respond to Emergencies


1. Ensure emergency response training and exercises are conducted effectively and in accordance with

requirements.

2. Manage emergency response with due regard for safety of personnel, FPSO and environment to the limit of your responsibility.

3. Demonstrate knowledge and awareness of potential emergency scenarios.

4. Contribute to effective de-brief and analysis of exercises.



5) Monitor and Maintain Pollution Control Measures


1. Controlled process discharges from area of responsibility to the environment are within prescribed limits

2. Unplanned discharges are identified, halted where possible, and reported according to policy, procedure

and regulation.

Pre-hire Qualifications and Experience:


  • Class 1 Deck Officer STCW 95 (Master Mariner Unrestricted) plus DCE for Petroleum /Gas as appropriate
  • Proven Tandem Berthing experience at open sea berths or internally Qualified Berthing Master, (QBM).
  • 10 years sea service on VLCC and 2 years minimum at rank of Chief Officer.
  • Computer literate on MS Office software packages.
  • Additional Preferred:
  • Extensive knowledge of offshore FPSO operations, including Production, Process, Utilities, Marine
  • Maintenance, and Safety Management.



Personal Skills :


Personal: Conscientious, flexible, versatile and determined. Capable of assertive and positive

communication and performance.

Leadership: Exemplary safety and managerial leadership skills. Good levels of written and spoken

communication in English language. Clear understanding of behavioural and logistical

personnel issues.

Technical: Appropriate standard of technical, legal and professional knowledge as defined by

competences.

IT: Practical familiarity with standard 'Office' software package. Operation and use of Internet and

electronic mail system.


Position : Electrical & Instrument Supervisor


Qualified to HNC/HND in instrumentation or/and electronics.

Time served in electrical or instrumentation.

5-year offshore experience.

FPSO operations experience desirable.

Have experience of working using Permit to Work systems.



TYPICAL MAIN ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :



Plan and organize the work activity of the electrical and instrument technicians such that all

planned and unplanned work is progressed to a satisfactory completion.

Direct and work with E/I technicians, Electrician, DCS Technician. Provide feedback on

performance issues to the Superintendent and on the job training where required.

Ensure that planned maintenance activities are performed correctly, timely and in an efficient

manner. Reporting or recording same as directed.

Ensure that plant and equipment is fully operational and critically maintained in accordance with

procedures. Be proactive to maintain high Standards.

Diagnose faults on defective equipment ensuring that all work is adequately monitored, carried out

safely and is fit for purpose.

Clear reporting of deficiencies and malfunctioning to the Maintenance Superintendent. Discuss

and analyze technical and spares issues with Maintenance Superintendent. Propose solutions to

deficiencies, non-conformities...

Review the quality of information in the maintenance database, such that the information contained

is technical valid, accurate and up to date.

Maintain a close working relationship with all Department Supervisors.

Ensure that spare parts received for E/I department are fit for purpose and revert any nonconformity

in due time.

Ensure compliance with FPSO permit to work system, isolation standards.

Be aware of roles and responsibilities with regard to emergency response.

The Senior Electrical Person appointed by Management to be responsible for the control and safety

associated with all electrical equipment on the facility
