SSE is a FTSE 100 company and one of the largest and most diverse energy companies in the UK. SSE Enterprise Utilities designs, constructs and adopts multi-utility infrastructures for both new housing and commercial developments in the UK. We provide a single point of contact for our clients which provides continuity in our business relations with them and ensures their requirements are fully met. We also ensure that our networks are constructed safely and to the correct specification, meaning that they can be operated and maintained in a safe and efficient manner for many years into the future.

The Heat Networks business is part of SSE Enterprise Utilities and contributes to the multi utility solution by delivering (design, build or adopt and operate) heat networks and energy centres for our clients. Due to continued business growth, we have a new opportunity for an experienced Construction & Installation Project Manager to join our team.

In this role you will manage the Project Execution phase of HEAT Network projects, some of which will be defined as a SSE Large Capital Project (LCP). You will also be involved in the Project Development phase, as well as the hand over to Operations & Maintenance. You will play a lead role in a project team in line with SSE values, ethics and governance procedures, such as LCP, whilst still delivering the project scope. In addition, you will ensure that SSE's commercial and contractual position is protected during the Project Execution phase, dealing with any contractual disputes/ claims/ variations in the first instance, escalating, where required, to the Head of Project Delivery.

To be successful in this role, you'll have a proven track record in utility construction with experience of managing projects of c. £10M. You will be qualified and experienced in construction site safety, e.g. CDM 2015, project management, e.g. PRINCE2, APM or ICE Construction Project Management and construction contracts, e.g. NEC3 or JCT.

You will possess solid leadership, decision making, management, organisational, communication and negotiating skills, so as to interact positively with clients and colleagues. You will have a strong commercial and contractual acumen giving you the ability to have a flexible approach to client requirements, in order to deliver solutions efficiently and safely.

In return, we can offer you a competitive salary package in a position which has excellent routes for career progression within the SSE Group. You will also enjoy an attractive benefits package, including pension, share plans, a generous leave entitlement (with options to purchase additional leave), staff tariffs on energy, phone and broadband bills, plus a host of other rewards and lifestyle benefits.
