The Senior Design Engineer role works in the Innovation Group of the Business Line RF Power that develop highly advanced products to reach the RF performance requirements of leading customers. The Senior Design Engineer works on innovative solutions to meet next (future) requirements for wireless infrastructure, broadcast and emerging markets systems using leading edge LDMOS technology and GaN technology. The Senior design engineer works in a team of engineers covering different innovative projects.
Tasks
Design, simulation and demonstration of new power amplifier concepts to enhance the performance of base station power amplifiers on efficiency, linearity and band-width for future standards like 4.5G and 5G.
Design, simulation and measurement of power amplifiers and drivers for RF base station applications.
Carry out industrial research, enlarging relevant knowledge and bringing in new knowledge.
Skills
The candidate should have a Masters degree in Electrical Engineering with specialization in RF & Microwave design, with the ambition to develop further in a technical role for the coming 5-10 years.
In depth knowledge and working experience in Doherty PA designs.
-At least 3 years of RF design experience.
High efficiency classes of operation (e.g. class AB, E, F)
RF IC design (MMICs).
General knowledge on transceiver system design and functional blocks
Power amplifier design, PCB layouting, prototyping, troubleshooting.
RF simulation tools like ADS/MWO and 3D EM simulation.
RF equipment and measurement techniques.
Physics of semiconductor devices.
Impedance matching for broadband power amplifiers.
Excellent problem solving skills.
Have a pro-active attitude, hands-on mentality, team player and good communication skills.
