DESCRIPTION:
We're looking for a Piping Designer who will be responsible for the preparation of engineering drawings for all construction and fabrication work, including detailed drawings, as-builts, schematics and flow diagrams, P&ID's and piping isometric drawings. This designer will work with Maintenance Engineer to determine piping specifications and specialty items. The Piping Designer will be expected to:
Coordinate the development, design, and drafting of 3D CAD based mechanical and piping drawings
Be responsible for the preparation of engineering drawings for all construction and fabrication work, including detailed drawings, as-builts, schematics and flow diagrams, P&ID's and piping isometric drawings
Under minimal direction of a Lead Mechanical/Piping Designer, provide advanced CADWorx drafting and design services by preparing and maintaining mechanical and piping engineering drawings for use in fabrication and construction
Activities include: production of piping plans, sections plans and isometrics, layout of process flow diagrams (PFDs), piping and instrument diagrams (P&IDs), general arrangements, orientation of process equipment with nozzles locations and plot plans
Travel to field as necessary, to make field sketches, take dimensions, and notes for drawing accuracy and may climb ladders, stairs and pipe racks at these locations as necessary

BACKGROUND:
The ideal Piping Designer will have:
A minimum 10 years of process piping design experience in a refinery setting
An associate's degree in drafting technology
Field experience is required - must be in good physical health and experienced working safely at heights
Must be proficient in CADWorx 2012 and AutoCAD 2009
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
Able to work overtime as required and be client/customer service oriented to provide professional service to all clients – internal and external
