Position - Engineering Group Supervisors
1. Mechanical - 2 Openings
2. Plant design - 2 Openings
Reports to: Project Engineering Manager
Supervises: Engineers
Designers
Directs a group of technical personnel within a specific engineering discipline or
shared discipline. Supervises the group's activities, developing complete and
accurate vendor and construction working drawings. Monitors the group's work for
conformance to applicable codes and good engineering practice and makes sure
that engineering, design, drafting, and procurement proceed on schedule. Makes
major decisions relating to the group's design or process effort and reports major
developments.
Primary Responsibilities
ô€ ¸ Participates with the project engineer in project planning for the engineering
discipline's portion of the project, to include:
- Prepares the budget and staffing requirements
- Prepares the design criteria
- Reviews and evaluates the engineering design schedule, including drawing
requirements, equipment lists, contract packages, and purchase orders, in
cooperation with the other project group supervisors and the Project Controls
group
- Reviews the project's detailed engineering, procurement, and construction
schedule with the project engineer, Project Controls, and Construction to coordinate
client requirements
ô€ ¸ Supervises and participates in the detail design engineering effort, to include:
- Determines the methods and procedures to be used in the design and consults
with the home office chief engineer when necessary
- Prepares design concepts and specifications developed in accordance with
guidelines developed by the project engineer
- Issues drawings and specifications to the field and coordinates with Procurement
- Issues contract packages for tender and purchase orders and performs technical
evaluation of bids
- Prepares progress reports and revises drawings, procurement specifications, and
schedules as necessary
- Monitors project progress for conformance to budget and schedule
ô€ ¸ Reviews and approves key engineering calculations and field and design
documents, including vendor drawings, equipment and material specifications, and
drawings
ô€ ¸ Coordinates with the Startup, Procurement, and Construction as required
ô€ ¸ Coordinates and complies the updating of initial drawings to the as-built condition
