SENIOR PIPING/LAYOUT ENGINEER FPSO - South Korea

SENIOR PIPING / LAYOUT ENGINEER FPSOrequired by our Client, an International Oil & Gas Operator, to be based in Geoje, South Korea.
DURATION: 24 months +
POSITION SCOPE
Under the direction of Senior Project Engineer - FPSO Topsides, deliver a topsides design that meets the requirements of the project in safety, reliability, operability and maintainability for its 40 year design life.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Occupational Health and Safety
Conduct all activities in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with the company's policies and procedures. Ensuring the welfare of personnel and the protection of assets and the environment at all times.
Ensure topside mechanical and piping design is in compliance with Australian Safety Case requirements.
Environment
Ensure FPSO mechanical and piping design minimises the impact on the environment in line with project requirements.
Technical
Have a detailed understanding and knowledge of piping design.
Have detailed understanding of modelling software/3D Model commonly used in the industry for piping design and layout
Have knowledge and experience to specify the piping design and layout of FPSO facilities interface with equipment including pressure vessels, heat exchangers materials handling, mechanical packaged process and utilities equipment, etc.
Support/advise the project team on piping and layout aspects of design, construction and offshore hook-up and commissioning of the FPSO to meet project requirements.
Have understanding of the design aspects of topsides engineering disciplines including process, structural, electrical, instrumentation, loss control, weight control etc.
Prepare technical reports and presentations as required.
Ensure that project specifications are complied with and deviations are substantiated in line with project procedures.
Ensure project BOD is updated as required in line with project procedures.
Organise, manage and control third party support studies as required.
Organise and plan technical discipline reviews as required.
Any job specifically identified by the Engineering Manager to seek the technical completeness/organisation of the discipline work.
Risk Management
Assist in identifying project risks and implement agreed mitigation measures as required.
Contractor Management
Ensure project deliverables and activities associated with the FPSO design are achieved in accordance with project milestone dates, budget and technical requirements of BOD
Direct/advise Contractors on piping and layout aspects of design, construction, installation and offshore hook-up and commissioning of the FPSO to meet project requirements
Manage and control work undertaken by the Contractors
Organise regular progress/technical meetings with the Contractors
Provide guidance and input into Contractor strategies/procedures and specifications with respect to piping and layout design for design, procurement, construction, installation and offshore hook-up and commissioning of FPSO
Participate in HAZID,ENVID, HAZOP's, Design Reviews, Constructability Reviews etc
Review and comment of Contractor/Supplier documentation in a timely manner
Coordinate discipline comments on Contractor/Supplier documentation in a timely manner
Interfaces
Ensure interface requirements between the pipelines and flexible risers are incorporated into the FPSO design and layout of equipment
Ensure operations and maintenance requirements are incorporated in the design
Ensure requirements of Classification Society are understood and implemented in the design and that approval is obtained in a timely manner for any necessary deviations/exemptions to the Rules.
Ensure interfaces between the FPSO hull and topside are managed as required particularly in the areas of layout of facilities, access, integration and weight/CG.
Liaise with JV Partner involvement in discipline technical design reviews as required
Team work
Work collaboratively within the organisation to achieve alignment on strategies and documentation required to achieve project objectives
Work collaboratively with the Contractors to achieve alignment on strategies and documentation required to achieve project objectives.
EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS
Tertiary Engineering Degree of equivalent
Min 15 years experience in multidiscipline design of Offshore Oil and Gas Topside Facilities
High awareness of safe working practices associated with design, construction, pre-commissioning, installation and offshore hook-up and commissioning of FPSO
Excellent communication skills
Excellent written skills
Ability to work with different disciplines and cultures.
