Position: Lead Subsea Pipeline Engineer
The position will be to work as a lead subsea pipeline engineer for the various projects undertaken by the company. The engineer will be part of the KBR - Granhernes global subsea pipeline team and will be based in Delhi office.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering (advanced degree preferred), with 15+ years of experience in offshore pipeline design.
Experience should include:
Completely conversant with current design practices, codes and software applicable to subsea pipeline systems;
Establishing base data and methodologies, consulting and problem solving, carrying out risk assessments and making effective presentations to the clients;
Experience in conceptual design for deep water developments would be preferred;
Past involvement as lead engineer with subsea construction company or operator would be preferred; and
Good leadership, planning, organizing and interpersonal skills.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Main responsibilities will include:
oLead design engineer within a project team;
oDelivery of subsea pipeline systems; and
oResponsible for team of pipeline engineers.
Plan, organize and direct all aspects of discipline execution on the assigned project including scope, deliverables, schedule and all manpower resources and agree allocations with the Discipline Manager;
Perform / review of offshore design activities such as pipeline route optimization, wall thickness calculation, pipe-spin interaction design, on-bottom stability analysis, expansion analysis, free span analysis, riser and tie-in spool design, on-bottom roughness analysis, cathodic protection design, global pipeline buckling and walking analysis, dropped object and trawl gear impact study, installation analysis etc.;
Coordinate within members of subsea pipeline discipline, other engineering disciplines within the organization as well as with Clients, third parties, vendors etc.;
Provide on the job training to a group of trainee and junior engineers/designers to deliver high quality work;
Develop Cost-Time Resource (CTRs) and Major Deliverables Register (MDR) and furnish weekly/monthly progress report for the project; and
The following software proficiency is required:
Pipeline Analysis: AUTOPIPE/CAESAR or equivalent, OFFPIPE /ORCAFLEX /DEEPLINES /SAGE 3D,
Finite Element Analysis: ABAQUS or ANSYS or Equivalent
Documentation/Calculations: MS Word, Excel, MathCAD, etc.
Drawing and drafting: AutoCAD.
