CH2M is looking for an Assistant Resident Engineer to work on one of our Transmission pipeline projects in Dubai.
- Assist the Resident Engineer water in performing the contractual duties on site.
- Assist the Resident Engineer Water in the management and direction of a team and Inspectors for the supervision of the construction of the Transmission pipelines.
- Assists the Resident Engineer in reporting on progress, safety, financial recommendations, quality control and design modifications.
- Builds a trusted relationship with the management team and with the client's counterpart staff.
- Establishes an appropriate working relationship with the contractors.
- Places an emphasis on safe construction practices (Target Zero) and on maintaining a high quality of construction. Leads by example in driving safe practices on site.
- Assists the Resident Engineer in monitoring progress of construction against the programme, and takes steps to ensure the programme is achieved.
- Ensures that the project quality control procedures are used and monitors it for improvement. Cooperates with audits required in accordance with the contract requirements and ch2m's internal systems.
- Contributes to the safety and build-ability reviews of the proposed designs.
- Evaluates, selects, and adapts construction management and control techniques, procedures, and criteria to suit job tasks, and devises and implements solutions to problems encountered.
- Ensures that the Construction Supervision team members effectively identify, manage and report project risks.
The minimum qualifications for this position are:
- Recent previous experience (within last 5 years) as an Assistant Resident Engineer for Transmission pipelines projects, and are ideally located in the Middle East region.
- Experience in the construction supervision of Ductile iron and GRE pipeline projects.
- Minimum 10 year's post graduate experience in site supervision and construction management of major Pipeline projects.
- Have a BSc in Civil Engineering from an internationally recognized and accredited university.
- Understand the aspects of site supervision and construction management of complex pipeline projects.
- Be enthusiastic about improving the safety performance of site operations in Dubai.
- Be able to communicate effectively with site teams and motivate them to meet the project objectives.
- Good leadership skills, and be able to work in a multi-cultural and multi-discipline team.
- Excellent communication and report writing skills, and good presentation skills in English.
