This is a senior level engineering position working under the direction of the Piping Engineering Lead and is in training for the duties of the Lead Piping Engineer at the project level. The candidate will independently apply advanced engineering techniques and analysis within the discipline. Develop designs that require innovation and ingenuity. Work is performed with minimal supervision; has considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments.
- Manage job cost accounting, manpower planning, estimating, and change notice submittals, scheduling and progressing workload, budgeting, and reporting
- Expected to Minimize engineering costs associated with Pipe Stress, Requisitioning, Line List Preparation and Material Specification Review.
- Department Manager will establish PSE targets
- Promote and execute workshare effectively and efficiently
- Provide mentoring to earlier career engineers.
- Ensure that no project work is completed out-of-scope.
- Ensure that all projects have a current DCN Log
- Operate as liaison between WCO and other locations as required by alignment or project scope
- Ensure that Engineering team is effectively communicating with all internal disciplines, specifically, Pipe Design, Structural, and Process
- Check or supervise pipe stress engineering, design engineering and analysis for complex units. Is expected to assist in the design of larger and more complex units while providing supervision for the same.
- Develop and issue line list and specialty items list. Knowledge of speciality item design, piping line class specifications, procurement, technical evaluation of valves, piping and fittings, pipe supports and review piping line class specifications.
