RULE 1: Savings should be the first expense you make out of your salary or income, ideally once you get your salary immediately move it to a long term savings account which is meant only for savings.
RULE 2: Save a minimum of 20% of all your income into this long term savings account.
RULE 3: Do not touch this long term savings account and allow it to grow.
