UPF Materials & Preservation Controller-Platform Topside.
Responsibilities:
Full time based in Korea, assisted by the construction supervision & inspection team, shall ensure that Topside Contractor material control and preservation achievements are in accordance with the contract. This is including prefabrication
and construction activities performed both in subcontractors workshops (all in Korea) and on the yard.
Activities:
General
Setup and manage a transversal organization using construction inspection/supervision team which is highly motivated and works diligently to meet
the project targets (HSE, Quality and Schedule).
Share experiences with other projects already working on the yard. Review and comment the Contractor construction procedures to make sure that material
control and preservation aspects are properly covered by each discipline. Review all periodic reports related to material control and
preservation. Identify
potential risk of delay in the construction execution due to Material control and
preservation, and formulates remedial actions.
Liaise closely with Contractor supervisor for all material control and preservation
issues. Develop tools to follow-up all material control and
preservation matters and
make sure that the related actions are implemented. Continuously expedite the resolution of material control and preservation issues with the Contractor to meet
schedule key dates.
In close cooperation with the engineering team assists to preparation of answers to
all Contractor query related to preservation matters.
Manage, with the support of construction inspection/supervision team, preservation
inspections related to prefabrication subcontractors in various workshops in Korea
and related to works performed on the Yard.
In close coordination with the Team, raise, follow-up and close quality issues via
quality observation cards (or FOCUS comment) or NCRs.
Ensure proper coordination with the commissioning team in order to control the interfaces at RFC stage. This includes joint monitoring of Contractor RFC dossier
and punch list clearance when related to material control or preservation (using ICAPS).
Prepare and update on weekly basis reporting on his activities and highlight to the
Construction Lead all area of concern which may impact either the quality or the delivery date.
Ensure that the sail-way is timely prepared with correct
identification and location
of material, proper preservation and sea-fastening.
Attend weekly construction meetings
Material control:
General materials control duties including materials receipt, storage and tracking
Maintaining records relating to all Project equipment whereabouts and movements Check that material and equipments are delivered as per ROS dates. Highlight any material or equipment delay and support the project procurement team expediting the
work or find out remedial plans to deliver as per ROS dates.
Ensure documentation attached to shipment including any materials certification are
correctly recorded and filed.
Check that all preservation activities are correctly entered and prepared in the preservation database/matrix in order to have the preservation work orders timely
issued.
Daily visit the site and ensures that preservation activities are timely carried out
and recorded. Checks the condition of storage indoor and outdoor. Control/checks humidity and temperature indoor storages and checks for the proper storage category.
The duty covers the preservation of equipment, from receipt at site, storage until
installation, and during construction and mechanical completion and preparation for
sail-away.
Check that only proper consumables are used to carry out preservation activities.
Check that the MSDS are available.
When necessary, request and get the assistance from the discipline supervisors.
Ensure Vendor warranties are being maintained for equipment. Make sure that preservation is set up back to its initial state after work had been performed. Qualification/Experience:
Large experience on similar topside at equivalent position.
Familiar with NCS requirements (PSA/NORSOK) and General Specifications. Offshore project construction back-ground and experience with Korean yards. Professional Experience (number of years) : 15
