The Two Wings to Human Perfection...

The Two Wings to Human Perfection

Vivekam (knowledge) and Vairagyam (abstinence) are two significant terms in Vendata philosophy. To the extent you gain knowledge, you have to practice abstinence, sense withdrawal. Understand the truths of life and to that extent you withdraw from the world. Vivekam and Vairagyam are the two wings to soar to the height of spiritual perfection. By the integrated practice of knowledge and abstinence, you will then find your personality blossoming. You evolve to spiritual perfection. You reach your Self, which is the culmination of human development.

Thereafter, your thinking becomes clearer and sharper and benevolent to the world. Your feelings become deeper but controlled. Your intentions become nobler, your actions gain momentum and power and your perceptions become alert. You live a dynamic and fruitful life. Your life becomes worth living. You can then fulfill your mission in life. Otherwise, it becomes indeed a great loss.

The master deplores the state of a human being who leads a mechanical routine existence without a mission. "If one has realized one's Self, truth is fulfilled. If one does not realize one's Self, it is supremely great loss. Contemplating upon the Self in every activity, the wise transcend this world and attain immortality"

The more knowledgeable you are, the more humble you will be!
