Senior Materials - Metallurgical Engineer (managerial Position), GGN

Position Title: Senior Materials - Metallurgical Engineer (15-20 Years) it"s a managerial position.

Summary: The successful candidate will perform within the Materials Engineering Technology (MET) discipline providing direction and broad subject matter expertise on materials and metallurgical engineering applications for the oil, gas and chemical industry. This position requires an industry recognized expert with a strong physical metallurgical background, specific knowledge of related codes and standards, and solid experience with material selection and corrosion mitigation

Responsibilities: 1. Coordinate Materials Engineering efforts between project engineering and the client, suppliers, and contractors 2. To provide specialist technical support and solutions to projects or other disciplines in relation to mainly (but not limited to) Oil and Gas or Petrochemical projects with respect to material selection, corrosion studies, its control and mitigation. 3. To recognize the nature of corrosion threats and understand the mechanics of corrosion process and ability to diagnose quickly and correctly, analyze to arrive at mitigation methods. 4. During process design stage, should be able to perform metallurgical analysis and select the optimum materials of construction that is technically and economically sound for long term corrosion protection of the facilities. 5. Coating system review 6. Review of weld procedure (WPS, WPR). 7. Review of non-destructive test procedures 8. To develop and corrosion control, monitoring, inspection and mitigation systems for up / mid-stream processes 9. Train and develop young materials engineers 10. The job may require travelling.

Requirements: Bachelor"s Degree in Metallurgical, Mechanical or Materials Engineering from a reputed College or University. A Master"s degree in materials science / metallurgy would be an added advantage. 15 years" experience in the materials selection, evaluation, corrosion studies, or other relevant tasks in an engineering company for hydrocarbon industry or an equipment/materials manufacturing company for hydrocarbon industry. Technical knowledge of all phases of metallurgical engineering and expert knowledge of metallurgical related codes. Ability to apply code guidelines from API, NACE, ASTM and ASME codes for materials of construction related to fabrication.
