Vacancy: Welding Specialist (AS 1796 & or IWS Certified)

In order to support the project of LNG Module & Pipe Line Fabrication of Our Client located at Batam, they are now looking for candidate to fill in position as:

Welding Specialist (Certified by AS 1796 & or IWS (Australia Welding Society & or International Welding Society)

The International Welding Specialist will be responsible for execution and planning of all welding operations, ensuring that direct hire welders and/or subcontractor's performance are in compliance within schedules and budget for module activities in the Cryo area on the LNG Module Yard Project whilst coordinating with other discipline superintendents, craft supervisors to undertake work scope.

Responsibilities Include:
• Responsible for welding activities within the Cryo modules
• Ensuring work fronts are available for all welders
• Monitoring welder qualifications, upgrading, and training
• Determining workforce requirements and coordinating established welding plans.
• Scheduling work to be performed and reviews work accomplished by welders' craft.
• Ensuring the most current weld procedures are used and implemented.
• Approving craft time records,
• Preparing reports and forecasts, including summary of weld progress, craft personnel forecasts, and expenditures forecast.
• Monitoring tool usage on the site and preparing field material requisitions for tools and consumables and ensures that the welders have the tools they require to be productive.
• Monitoring the activities of craft and NDE subcontractor to ensure compliance with specifications and schedules.
• Implantation of corporate/project policies, procedures and instructions within assigned operations.
• Coordinating activities with other disciplines as instructed by construction management.

Basic Qualifications

• Must be certified to AS 1796 (Australia Welding Society) or IWS Welding Specialist (International Welding Society), ertificate must be valid.
• Strong supervision experience including the ability to lead and manage change is desirable.
• Displays effective communications skills crucial to motivating team members and presenting plans in a clear and concise manner.
• Strong experience if liaising with and coordinating contractors and vendors.
• Strong technical knowledge of module assembly installations and cryogenic piping systems.
• Excellent problem solving ability.
• Knowledge of engineering and construction methods and processes customarily acquired over time through specialized instruction or practical
