 JD for the EHS position with Arvin Meritor, Mysore.:-
Key Duties, Responsibilities:
1.       Meet Plant - EHS function objectives with respect to Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Productivity, Morale and Environment.
a.       Responsible for Plant Engg - EHS function as assigned by HOD  to ensure Delivery to internal and external customers OTIF(On time In Full) are met through the following:
Ø  Accountable for ensuring the compliance of statutory requirements of Inspectorate of Factories, Pollution Control Boards & Environment protection and Inspectorate of Explosives.
Ø  Accountable for updating Onsite & Offsite Emergency plans and participations.
Ø  Accountable for monitoring and controlling Land & Water contamination and Air & Noise pollution by periodical inspection, measuring and testing.
Ø  Accountable for conducting Safety meeting, safety audits and mock drill exercise at defined frequencies.
Ø  Accountable for ensuring the action points listed from above meetings are completed within the target time.
Ø  Review the Repetitive failures of EHS parameters and take counter measures.
Ø  Accountable for monitoring and obtaining the renewal / addition / deletion of all Licenses (Diesel storage tank, LPG storage, cylinder storage, ground water authority, Argon & Co2)  related to EHS function from respective Govt authorities / agencies.
Ø  Accountable for periodical statutory  testing of Lifting tackles / equipments, Pressure vessels, Power presses, Dust collectors, Weighing scales, fire fighting equipments etc,.
Ø  Peroidically conduct safety audit and identify unsafe conditions  & actions across the plant and communicate to the respective VSMs for elimination.
Ø  Accountable for Identifying, proper storing and disposing of all Hazardous waste and other related wastes as per PCB's guide lines to the respective authorized agencies.
Ø  Accountable for ensuring the operation and maintenance of equipments related to EHS function like ETP / STP / Coolant recovery & treatment / Incinerator, Rain water tank etc,.
Ø  Plan and implementation of equipments up-gradation based on its performance.
Ø  Review and revise PM plans on quarterly basis and update for bringing down equipments down time / other losses.
Ø  Control R & M cost for EHS function as per AOP.
Ø  Plan spares and consumables for PM/Predictive Maintenance of EHS related equipments.
Ø  Communicate PM Plan to all Business units / MPS one week in advance.
Ø  Implementation of suggestions.
Ø  Responsible for achieving Zero accidents in the department / function.
Ø  Responsible for creation of CLRI check list and ensure implementation for all EHS related equipments.
Ø  Responsible for planning of spares to ensure no loss of time/ production  for want of spares to repair the equipments.
Ø  Documentation & Presentation of MIS to the Management.
b.      Ensures Plant Engg – EHS function staff enforces Company policies and procedures, plant wide safety rules and employee rules of conduct.
c.       Reviews activity reports of EHS function to determine progress and status in attaining objectives and revises objectives and plans in accordance with current conditions.
d.      Participate in new projects requirements.
2.       Embrace and Drive continuous improvement within the Plant Engg – EHS function.
a.       Align with Plant/ dept objectives, Plan and execute the concepts and techniques of EHS to further the dept / plant.
b.      Ensure that EHS function plans and executes productivity tasks on an quarterly and ongoing basis.
c.       Prioritize activities associated with elimination of waste.
3.       Organizational Strengthening
a.       Participate actively in Leadership Development of plant engg EHS function personnel.
b.      Improve employee relations and morale through the participation on personnel from the EHS and install behavioral discipline.
c.       Improve communication throughout the Plant engg EHS unit and at all levels.
4.       Working with Unions
a.       Continue to identify and eliminate past practices that may impact the financial well being of the plant.
b.      Work with Union personnel to improve day to day operations /  maintenance.
5.       Incorporates AAL's vision and values into day-to-day activities and behaviors; guides and motivates others to remain committed to the AAL philosophy.
6.       Active Participation in interviewing, training, disciplining and coaching employees.
7.       Executes APS objectives, meeting APS commitments and working within the guidelines of APS; reflects AAL business values and the AAL philosophy in the respective Business unit.
8.       Compliance to QMS / EMS requirements.
Accountabilities:
  1. Maintenance of the PLE - EHS section (as assigned by the HOD) including internal and external customer satisfaction, safety, delivery, cost, productivity, morale and environment.
  2. Responsible for the staff and workman discipline, integrity and ethics.
