Position: Piping Manager

Qualification: B.E./B.Tech (Mechanical) (Full time) from a recognized & reputed institute with good academic records

Experience: 15 to 20 years in EPC industry in Oil & Gas, Refinery, Petrochemical or Fertilizer industry in Project functions 

Detailed Job Description:

1. Should have worked in FEED, Detailed Engineering phase of Fertilizer, Chemical and Petrochemical project

2. Hands on experience on all major activities related to Piping Design (Layout), Piping stress engineering. Knowledge of Piping Material Engineering is preferred.

3. Sound knowledge of 3D software, SP3D, E3D, PDMS etc. and Piping Stress analysis

4. Working knowledge of software like CAESAR-II, Auto pipe, Piping Material Engineering and Control SPMAT or equivalent and International Codes and Standard.

5. Should be self-motivated team player who can fulfill assigned responsibilities independently

6. Should have excellent oral and written communication skill.

Key Responsibilities: Preparation of Piping Narrative Specification, Conceptual Piping layout, transposition, Nozzle Orientation, Ladder and Platform arrangement, Rack Loading, piping material Specification, Piping Stress Analysis of Critical lines, Data Sheet of Piping bulk items, specialty items, engineered supports, Man- hour Estimation, Piping Support design, Control Level Schedule and Progress Reporting, Coordination with other engineering disciplines and project engineering. Participate in Client Model Review, Piping Isometric checking etc.

Soft skills: Strong Work ethics, Positivity, Teamwork, Self-confident, problem solving

Software skills: SP3D, CAESAR-II, AUTOPIPE, Smart Plant Review, Navis Works, SPMAT or equivalent Material Engineering and Control Software

Position: Principal Piping Engineer

Job Profile:

• BE/BTech in Mechanical engineering with Min. 15 year of experience (Min 4-5 years in Lead role).

• Should have worked as Design Lead in the offshore Oil & Gas industry working with International companies involved in Concept/FEED/Detail Design & EPC Projects of Piping for Offshore Oil and Gas facilities – Wellhead platforms, Fixed Process Platforms, FPSO topsides modules & Turret Mooring System, TLPs & Semi-submersibles

• Leading a Piping design team within project Organization on Large EPC projects.

• Must be able to take a hands-on-role in the development of Piping concept studies and equipment layout preparations as well as provide supervision / guidance to working engineers and designers in problem solving.

• Must be able to understand Material / Mechanical handling studies.

• Must be able to understand safety layout & good knowledge of safety Equipment's used in offshore industry. Also, display good knowledge of Human ergonomics in Design.

• Display good knowledge and understanding of process requirements in piping Design and Material considerations.

• Adherence to company procedures (Technical, Management & QMS procedures).

• Able to plan and work independently, reporting progress and schedule to team leaders and PMT.

• Planning and implementation of the Project to ensure that deliverables are issued on schedule, project milestone dates are met, and given tasks are completed within the allowed budget.

• Preparation of scope of work, man-hours distribution; Selection of resources in consultation with head of discipline to meet the specific job requirements.

• Preparation, Review & Approval of all design documents / drawings as per project deliverables list.

• Understand Piping bulk material aspects, bulk take-offs, quantification.

• Ensure proper detailing of Pipe supports in 3D & 2D and interface with Structural to provide clash free model.

• Able to evaluate stress analysis result and provides necessary recommendation on resolving the method of analysis.

• Ensure smooth handling of 3D model gate reviews (30%, 60% & 90%), Constructability reviews & HAZOP review and implementations. Perform cold eye review of Piping deliverables & 3D model.

• Develop and maintain isometric Index, Pipe support index, close out report of model review and Punch list & Hold list.

• To coordinate the review and approval of vendor documents /drawings and ensuring full compliance with contract requirements and meet with company/client specifications.

• Coordination with Engineering Project Managers / Lead Engineers from other Disciplines for the inter-disciplinary tasks.

• Monitoring of job progress, identifying slippage and short comings and setting solutions and remedies in consultation with Project Manager.

• Have experience in handling the queries arising from clients, comments from approval authority, contractors or other disciplines. Provide sound judgement while handling projects of Brown field nature.

• Develop training and skill development plan for graduate Trainees and mid-level Engineers.

• Effective weekly progress report (Project status and resource utilization).

• Working knowledge of International codes and standards like ASME B 31.3 / B31.4 / B31.8, ASTM, API, BS, MSS SP, NACE & ABS.

• 3D software work experience is value added: E3D / PDMS & AutoCAD.
