Job Description
In this position, you responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
Manage projects including interfacing and reporting to clients, monitoring and managing budget and schedules, and general project coordination.
Plan, organize and work with technical groups in the delivery of project requirements including the provision of technical support to designers.
Overview and provide leadership on technical design and deliverable requirements including: vertical and horizontal alignments; quantity and construction cost estimates; engineering design reports; technical specifications; material and equipment selection; cost estimates; construction contract documentation; compilation of design/construction drawings; etc.
Lead and/or provide support to business development and strategic initiatives, including preparation of proposals.
Provide support to other Canadian regions in the development and delivery of project requirements.
Through project efforts and involvement in industry activities, develop and maintain client relations.
Actively participate in and support internal and external development and training activities.
As appropriate, support the development of more junior staff within the region.
Support to business initiatives and projects within Hatch Mott MacDonald.
Candidate Specification:
As the qualified candidate, you possess:
A civil engineering degree from a recognized university;
A minimum of 7 years' experience for intermediate project manager and a minimum of 12 years' senior project manager in rail engineering, including both design and project management;
Professional engineer, eligible for registration with APEGA
Technically familiar with railway engineering design projects.
Experience and interest in business development initiatives, and in the development and maintenance of client relations.
Familiar with various civil engineering software design tools.
Working as a team player is very important for this role.
Track record of delivering projects on time and to budget;
Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with all levels of staff and clients (both written and orally).
