Job Description -
Study of the project specification, standards, Vendor GA drawing and checking clashes if, any with other discipline.
o Detailed studies of Unit plot plan w.r.t. equipment erection. Providing feedback to Project team for incorporation of comments in Plot plan.
o Preparation of erection sequence based on the front available/ erection priority/ Equipment delivery date.
o Preparation of P & M requirements and tentative P & M schedule for budget approval.
o Study the critical equipments (ODC/Super ODC) and critical structures to be erected and plan in advance for crane/ Equipment access/ movements.
o Study the equipments to be erected below technological civil structure / within the steel structure and review the constructability.
o Depending upon equipment delivery and complexity, take pro active decision and discuss with other discipline Lead engineers/ Construction/Area Managers and decide for any hold of civil structure/ structure fully or partly.
Ensure that no clash / mismatch between centers of equipments base plate holes and Civil foundation bolts / Structure support holes.
o Confirm that there is no mismatch between equipment base plate holes and Civil foundation bolts details. If any discrepancies observed, raise site engineering request and resolve before take up civil foundation casting.
Raise PR for enabling items like template preparation, packer plate cutting, Equipment erection and grouting.
o Categorise the equipment based on weight, complexity and finalise light/medium / heavy/ super heavy. All heavy/ super heavy lift equipments (> 50 MT) are erected under the supervision of Heavy lift team.
o Prepare detailed scope of work and raise PR. Coordinate with Area manager / Construction manager / Contract cell for allocation of contractor.
Expedite the equipment delivery and monitoring the progress.
o Coordinate with Project team for expediting long lead equipment delivery in case of any delay.
o Pursue with Projects for supply of transit damages/ short supply items found during receipt of equipment at site.
Execution of Equipment erection as per drawing and requirements in safe manner.
o Confirm that the civil foundation bolts are cast with template meeting the equipment base plate details. Also ensure that foundation bolts are within tolerances limit.
o Review and approval of rigging scheme for Light/ Medium lift ( Up to 50MT ). Provide necessary inputs to Heavy lift group for preparation of rigging scheme for Heavy/ super heavy lift.
o Equipment erection shall be carried out as per sequence and priority to open front for other disciplines.
o Allocate the resources (manpower & P&M) as per the job needs to avoid idling of P & M.
o Ensure that any operational & maintenance spares items if received along with packing are returned to stores with proper records.
o Before giving erection clearance, physically check and ensure that the site preparatory works are done strictly as per rigging scheme and good engineering practice. Also cross check that the rigging accessories are calibrated and in good conditions for use.
o Coordinate with Heavy lift group for erection of Heavy/ Super heavy lift operations.
o Adequate safety measures to be taken and aim for the zero incidents.
o Ensure that rotary equipment are erected as per vendor data guide line. Alignments of pumps are done within tolerance limit (with and without piping).
o All the connecting piping and its to pumps/ compressors are without any stress on equipment flanges. If any mismatch, corrective action to be taken.
o Handing over of equipments after attending punch points if any.
o Raise SER in case of deviations, shortcoming in drawings or any clashes being envisaged. Highlight to other discipline in case it affects their drawings or job sequence.
RA bill certification and documentation
o Certification of RA/Final bill - measurements for contractor payments. Certification of Final material consumption.
o Ensure ITPs are handed over for equipments to Maintenance / CES Operation.
o Preparation of Lesson learnt and equipment close out report.
Ensuring periodic Safety & Quality audits
o Conduct regular tool box talks covering erection procedures, safe use and custody of rigging accessories, use of PPE.
o Coordinate with Safety / Quality Lead engineers and conduct of Audits at regular intervals.
o Ensure with contractor for liquidation of Audit findings.
Providing training to sub ordinates.
o Training and development of sub ordinate * Ability to organize / manage all equipment erection activities and meet the target date.
o Resolve all issues in time and ensure safety and quality.
o Successful completion of equipments erection aiming at zero accidents and in time limit.
o Acceptance of equipment by third party for handing over.
* Work order closure with material reconciliation and final measurement certification.
o Prevention of loss/damage of material and rework.
* Performance in safety & quality audits at site
* Timely bill certification.
* Selection of proper P&M and preparing lifting schemes
* SER raised and follow up to resolve in specified timelines
